IN THIS ISSUETHE STATE OF OSCAR’S APPEALSince being sentenced to five years behind bars for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, former Paralympian Oscar Pistorius has been confined to the hospital section of Kgosi Mampuru 2 Prison.Judge Thokozile Masipa found him guilty of culpable homicide and he has to serve 10 months of his five-year sentence before a decision can be made to convert his prison sentence to house arrest.The prosecution, led by advocate Gerrie Nel, indicated it would appeal the verdict. Judge Masipa granted the state leave to appeal and Oscar could be behind bars for longer than five years should the appeal be successful and he’s convicted of murder.
